Drugs and drug use has always been a popular target, which has helped keep the public confused and unreasonably emotional when it comes to the truth about drug use within the US population.

Thanx for the MAPS reference, ddp. Education and knowledge are the missing link. I’m convinced that if more people knew the truth, radical change would occur almost overnight!
One problem with the MAPS link is that most people don’t go through the “trouble” of reading all the information. They take one look at that page and they’re outta there, on to the next thing. Unfortunately, people want their info in little, easily digestible sound bytes. They’re lazy when it comes to getting the real information. Therefore, it’s easy to lead them astray with disinformation, mass-media spin doctoring, bullshit political posturing, and straight out lies. People like you and I will read and absorb the entire document, but we’re the exception, not the rule, unfortunately. But that’s no reason to stop trying to get the truth out.
Our very lives depend on the truth. At least the *quality* of our lives does, anyway.
