Filmmaker Kevin Booth’s New Documentary:
How Weed Won the West

I always support Kevin Booth’s efforts to raise awareness and exposing the ridiculous and dangerous draconian drug laws in the USA. I first learned about Kevin Booth many years ago, by being a huge fan of the late great comedian/satirist Bill Hicks. Kevin and Bill had been childhood friends. I feel that part of Bill’s long-silenced voice is still heard through he works of his friends such as Kevin Booth. How Weed Won the West

“Scrapper” – An Explosive New Documentary

Intense New Documentary – Scrapper

by L.A. Filmmaker Stephan Wassmann

A Mini-history of Twan and Stephan Wassmann

Stephan Wassmann is a good friend of mine. He and I met when we were both working on our very first feature film together when we were in our early 20’s. It was an ultra-low budget piece of crap called “Warlords From Hell”, produced by B-movie mogul Roger Corman, co-starring Robert Patrick in his first movie role (best known as the evil liquid robot man in Director James Cameron’s Terminator 2). Stephan and I have remained friends over the years and have kept tabs on each other’s endeavors. Stephan was one of the director/cameramen for a project that is still on the shelf, waiting for ME (Twan) to get off my ass and make happen: the 1999 Burning Man Voodoo Opera – Le Mystere de Papa Loko. Absolutely amazing footage.

Get a glimpse of our explosive new documentary “SCRAPPER”, which takes you inside a uniquely American outlaw realm… right where you least expect it.

There’s a 3 minute and a 1 minute trailer. We’d love it if you posted a comment if you don’t mind taking the time. We’re trying to generate as much buzz as we can, so feel free to forward the link to friends.

Please check it out

Worship THAT!? Never!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

The occasionally overwhelming darkness of life can seem to be all encompassing. Depressing beyond belief. Beyond hope. I’m looking at life through those dark filters at the moment. Actually, for quite too long now… It’s not pretty… but I’ve seen uglier, and lived through worse.

They say that god works in mysterious ways…

But something has lifted my spirits, if even just a little bit. I’m here watching the end of a mediocre movie called “Devil’s Advocate”. It’s not all that great. But in it, Al Pacino plays Satan in human form… an attorney, no less… And he is giving a belligerent, indignant speech about God, his nemesis. It is this speech that has given my spirits a boost and a grin for the day. A ray of hope and sunshine. Redemption can come in odd, unexpected ways. I’ll take it! I accept!

I hope you enjoy this transcript as much as I enjoy bringing it to your attention:

God? …..Is that it..?

…God!?

Well, I’ll tell ya… let me give you a little inside information about “god”:

God likes to watch.
He’s a prankster.

Think about it :

He gives man instincts…
He gives you this extraordinary gift…

And then what does he do..? I swear, for his own amusement… his own private cosmic gag reel…

He sets the rules in opposition. It’s the goof of all time:

Look… but don’t touch…
Touch… but don’t taste…
Taste… but don’t swallow…

Ha ha ha!

And while you’re jumping from one foot to the next, what is he doing?

He’s laughing his sick f cking ass off..!

He’s a tight-ass..!
He’s a SADIST..!
He’s an absentee landlord..!

Worship *THAT* !?!…

NEVER!

Al Pacino as Satan in Devil’s Advocate

Even though Pacino is playing the devil… that particular description doesn’t sound so devilish at all… Sounds pretty logical to me! And I don’t have much use for those bankrupt, irrelevant concepts known as ‘god’ and ‘devil’….

Update: OK.. I finished watching the movie since I originally posted this message.

Twan’s quick capsule review:

“Piece of Shit!”

But that doesn’t diminish the quoted text above. That much is golden!
